No Beer

Mini Burger Truck

It’s official, Sacramento has finally caught up to the trendy food craze of gourmet delectable mobile eats and fortuitously, burgers!  Mini Burger Truck shatters the old roach coach image and rolls in with a new age style of eating.  This quality meals on wheels concept has been highly successful and some would say infectious in Southern California for quite some time now, and has finally made it’s way up to the capital city.   Needless to say, the Ro Sham Burgers were anxious to try out this hip new way of dining/eating. Ford’s Real Hamburgers

Ford’s Real Hamburgers is the latest stop on the Burger Tour-de-Sacramento. This is one of the most anticipated burger joints for me. It has a strong following amongst local burger experts and recognized on many occasions as “Sacramento’s Best Burger.” As always, the Ro Sham Burgers had done some recon. The only beef patrons seemed to have of this place is the inconsistent hours they keep. Unfortunately for us, we became victims of exactly what others have experienced. Their hours posted on their window were clearly stated 10am-7pm. We knew this going in so we were there by 5:30. Unfortunately, for us and many other hungry patrons, we were not so proudly greeted with a sign that said closed for dinner(no reason given). Needless to say, that night our plans took us to their competition.

NationWide Freezer Meats

With a catchy name like”NationWide Freezer Meats” how could this go wrong?

Well, this was sort of disappointing, unfortunately. For one thing, they don’t have beer. Huge points deduction for this. Secondly, the prices were inflated for no good reason. This is a greasy spoon at best, fronting an aging butcher shop. Sure it has a charm in its lack of decoration and booths from an extinct Naugles. But calling your burger “French” is no reason to charge over $9 for it.

It was a tasty burger, don’t get me wrong, but a frosty beverage makes everything taste better. This has been voted number 4 by KCRA’s “A-List” for 2010. Seriously?

5 Guys Burgers

The Ro Sham Burgers visited 5 Guys hungry and thirsty. Burgers were good old diner style with an east coast flair. The pros are…… they offer more toppings than I can list and cons are… NO BEER. The fries were excellent, homemade and come in regular and spicy. Burgers are best here togo because… did I mention NO BEER.
