Russian River Pub

ROAD TRIP!!! Nothing says good times and great beers like a good ole fashioned road trip. Since one of our RSB’s was turning the spry age of 40 this weekend, we were off on a quest for an awesome burger not located in the Sacramento region. Our journey took us to the Russian River Pub in Forestville, CA. Guy Feiri recently featured this roadside pub on his show DDD. Burger Me, Truckee Ca

I liked Burger Me in Truckee. It’s location at the end of its heavily tourist laden main drag is perfect. You can park across from Burger Me, grub, and then walk a couple blocks to the American Bar, while wives and girlfriends shopping in one of the 80 nic-nak shops along the way, it’s a win-win.

Back to the burger review.

We stopped here because Guy Feiri, had done a show from here, which usually means it’s gonna be good; and it did not disappoint. Burger Me started as a Food Bank, but quickly became known for their burgers. So, they opened Burger Me to front the operation. They still run the Food Bank, but ever since Guy stopped by, the burgers are taking front stage.

Hodad's: Ocean Beach, Ca

After standing in a bit of a line outside Hodad’s (popular and has a very small interior)once inside, surrounded by the smell of burgers, fries, onion rings, and beer,I knew everything was gonna be great! Ordered the standard Bacon and Cheddar with a side of “frings” half fries/half onion rings(by the way, one order is enough for the whole table of 5 people).  Burger was prepared nicely, very juicy and all orders were cooked properly and served correctly, fries and rings were good as well.
